Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge

The mission of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is working with others to conserve, protect, and enhance fish, wildlife, plants, and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people.

The refuge is open daily from sunrise to sunset. The visitor center is open 8 - 4 Thursday - Monday from May - September, and everyday from October - April (except Thanksgiving and Christmas).

The visitor center has a small exhibit area, a nature film and the Friends Nature Store. The entrance fee is $3 per vehicle and we sell all of the federal lands passes. There are 60 miles of trails for hiking and biking, a 1.5 mile drive, and we offer guided tours.
